National Antidrug Strategy
 The Slovak Government adopted in 2009 the new NAS
(2009 – 2012)
 Its main goal is the protection of public health and the
emphasis is given to the integrated, balanced and
coordinated approach. The balanced approach is
visible in two main priorities of strategy:
 1. to prevent drug abuse, risks and damage related to
drug abuse;
 2. to prevent and repress drug related crime.
National Antidrug Strategy
 This policy document within drug demand reduction
formulates concentrates on the following issues:
 (i) innovative approaches in the area of prevention and reduction
of drug use or abuse-related damages.........
 (iv) creation of conditions for the active and meaningful
use of leisure time;
 (v) to prepare preventative programmes and
educational activities;
 (vi); to enhance of the information level and the
improvement of the quality of support services,
especially for risk groups

Implementation of drug
prevention
 in Slovakia falls under the responsibility
of the key ministries concerned:
 Education,
 Health,
 Labour, Social Affairs and Family,
 and the Ministry of Interior.

credit education for proffesionals
working in school area:
