Risk Management Journey
• Facilities Risk Management – centralized this role in (Sept. 2011)
• Risk Management responsibilities:
• Liaison with insurer; Safe work practice; Environmental, Real Estate
• Risk Management Guidelines (hardcopy) was the standard method
for information delivery
• Opportunity for improvement identified in data management
• Conducted over 100 RQI audits and 46 insurer surveys across the
company
• Launched SharePoint site to push standards, procedures, practices,
and collect results per Plan Do Check Act (PDCA)
• Initiated partnership with Metricsoft to develop a Risk Management
Portal

• Method needed to be cost effective
• Scalable architecture required as our systems develop or requirements change
• Automated escalation-failure of users to execute per assigned timeframe
• Track insurance and internal Facilities Risk Management recommendations:
• Open, In Progress, Closed, Audited, Awaiting Funding
• Variety of data outputs (excel/charts)
• Environmental Metrics
• Kilowatt hours (KWH) Water, Natural Gas consumption (raw and
normalized)
• Safety Reporting: TRIR, LTIF, Severity, Near Miss
• Kicked off Risk Management Portal site as concept
