Transcript Measuring Water

Water Titration and You

In this presentation, you
will learn how to prepare
your daily dose using the
water titration method.
Measuring Water

Fill graduated cylinder
with water to the amount
indicated on your
schedule.
Dissolve Pill in Water

Place one pill in mortar
with a small amount of
water from your cylinder.
Dissolve Pill in Water

Grind with pestle until
pill is mixed with the
water.
Pour Medication into Blender

Pour the medication into
the blender.
Rinse Mortar

Rinse mortar with some
of the measured water
from the cylinder.
Pour rinse water into blender

Pour the rinse water into
the blender.
Pour cylinder water into blender

Pour remaining premeasured cylinder water
into the blender.
Blend

Blend for 20-30 seconds
to suspend medication in
the water.
Measuring your toss amount

For small amounts
(under 20ml) use the
baby dropper to measure
and remove your toss
amount.
Measuring your toss amount

For large amounts (20ml
or greater) use the
graduated cylinder to
measure your toss
amount. Do this by
pouring the liquid from
the blender back into the
cylinder for measurement.
Discard your toss amount

Discard your toss
amount down the drain
or, if your toss amount is
greater than your drink
amount, you can save it
in a sealed container in
the refrigerator for use
the next day.
Drink what’s left

After measuring and
discarding your “toss”
amount, drink the remainder
of the “drug water” that
remains in the blender.

Pour some water in the
blender and slosh it around
to pickup any remaining
residue and drink the rinse
water.
