• Understand that crime reduction and prevention
requires:
– Community involvement with city staff
– Staff involvement with the community
• Gain enough knowledge and understanding to
help you choose a focus to successfully reduce
crime
– Crime prevention
– Information about suggested target crimes
– Effective teamwork

Outcomes for June 17
• Teams will be formed with team leads identified
• Each team will have a clearly identified crime to
reduce or prevent and a strategy for reducing or
preventing this crime that requires community
and staff collaboration for success
• A draft work plan that outlines the desired
results, next steps and general timelines
• Commitment to follow through
• Understanding of the systems that will support
team effectiveness

crime or a particular prevention strategy.
