Faith-Based Training Initiative
Objectives
•To Create a venue where Faith-Based Communities and Drug
and Alcohol Programs can discuss the impact and solutions to
the alcohol and drug abuse problems that are affecting their
communities.
•To Educate Faith-Based Communities and Alcohol and Drug
Programs on shared information, resources and strategies on
how to address alcohol and drug abuse issues within their
communities.
•To Provide training to Faith-Based Communities on the Core
Competencies in understanding and addressing alcohol and drug
abuse.

Communities and Drug and Alcohol Programs in addressing
alcohol and drug abuse in their communities.

Host six (6) regional National Clergy Trainings
a. Trained a total of 312 persons
a. Faith-Based Ministries – 29

• Promote Partnership of Trainings/with Focus on D/A
Programs.
• Provide networking opportunities for Faith-Based and Drug
and Alcohol Programs
• Provide Panel discussion to raise awareness of available
resources for Faith-Based Communities
• Introduce Faith-Based Communities to the availability of
trainings through the Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Programs
(BDAP) training management system to fulfill Core
Competencies recommendations

Outcomes
• Faith-Based Communities participants have initiated or
become involved in activities with Drug and Alcohol
Programs within their respective communities.

• Faith-Based Communities members have begun to attend
BDAP’S Mini-Regional Training events to become better
educated on issue of alcohol and drug abuse.

professional credentials to help members of their
communities in areas of Alcohol and Drug abuse recovery.
