• World War I (1914-1918): Germany lost
the war, lost land, lost military rights, and
had to pay the winning countries
• World War II (1939-1935): Germany lost
the war and was divided into 2 states
(East & West) after millions of Jewish
people were murdered because they were
seen as an inferior race
– The Holocaust: a genocide that killed about 6
million Jews that was lead by Adolf Hitler and
the Nazi party

German citizens from escaping to the

corrupted westerners out of the east
