The Dominican Republic, a nation of many gifts, is ideal for farming and exporting its produce 365 days a year. To
name a few, we can mention, its excellent geographic location, its temperate climate, which is ideal for the
production of a great variety of agricultural products; the continued improvement in expediting commercial flow
through local customs; our advanced sea and air transport infrastructure; a favorable legal framework of incentives
for exports and preferential access through our free trade accords; creating over 58,000 direct jobs and market
opportunity for over 150,000 agricultural producers. Several Dominican products are currently world market leaders in
regards to their production and exports; we are the number one cigar exporter in the world, the main exporter of rum

ARTISANAL PRODUCTS
Thanks to the country’s geology, and having been host to the oldest mining industry in America, the Dominican Republic
relies upon mining resources such as Larimar and Amber.
The uniqueness of our Larimar gives it a singular personality, since this particular variety of the mineral, colored with its hues
of blue, can be found nowhere else on the planet. Both Larimar as well as Amber have become a part of our Dominican
identity. Their beauty makes them an ideal material for the creation of jewelry.
The artisanal history of the Dominican Republic dates back to the Taino Indians. Today’s, artisanal products, are the result
of the marriage between popular creativity, the utilitarian and the beautiful, they are decorative objects that contribute to
divulge popular art and to reinforce the National Identity.
