maximum possible score of 5 in the new
report.
Sudan actually improved its rating despite
suffering from significant instability in
recent years

and one of the largest drops on the list.

and failure to address corruption and improve
state institutions all contributed in destroying
peace
The Central African Republic spends an
incredible 29% of its GDP containing
violence.
Yemen suffered the largest drop in its GPI score
due to the civil war that escalated into a regional
conflict.
Somalia : More than 20% of its
population are displaced.
Afghanistan’s military expenditure rose from 1.66 %
of GDP to 15.75 % in less than a decade. The least
peaceful country in South Asia with a high rate of
terrorist activity
Iraq : Excluding Syria, the country with the second
highest death rate from internal conflict.
South Sudan has more than 20% of their population
as displaced persons. It spends 35% of its GDP on the
cost of containing violence.
Syria is the least peaceful country in the
world because of the high rate of terrorist
activity, conflicts and state failure.

Harbour, was a surprise military strike by the Imperial
Japanese Navy against the United States naval base at Pearl
Harbour, in the Territory of Hawaii, on the morning of
December 7, 1941.
