1 THE IMPORTANCE OF COAL MINE VENTILATION
1.1 Component and Targets of Coal Mine Ventilation
Components: Including fan, ventlation network, ventlation
establishment , Monitoring System. etc .
Target 1: During normal production period, provide fresh air to
mine continuously, to ensure the tempertaure, methane and dust
under safe limitation.
Target 2: During accidents period, control of the amount of wind
direction and wind timely and effectively, Prevent the expansion
of disasters, and reduce casualties and property losses.

mining environment
Ventlation parameters always changing in time and space;
( Requires dynamic management )
Ventilation network is too big and complex;
( Requires graphical show )
Traditional manual mensure and table management could not
fulfill modern mine production, especially to deep and coal
seams mine ; ( Traditional technology could not protect
ventilation to be credible )
All of this requires more advanced technology

2.1 History of China ventilation technology
China’s mine ventilation technology has a long history more than 3000
years.
 Both Phoenix mountains mining sites and Daye mining sites have,
natural ventilation system, more than 3000 years.
Chinese mining industry and ventilation technology has a Sharp
increase during the 18-19 century Industrial Revolution in Europe.
After long-term accumulation and continuous, ventilation plays an
important role in coal mine production.

2.2 Policy guidelines of China ventilation technology
Methane is one of the biggest hazards in China now, as to
methane, there are 2 policies as follows:
Policy 1: first deflating then mining, outputs based on
ventilation, monitoring and control.
Policy 2: credible ventilation, deflating and mining are regular,
efficient management, efficient monitoring .

2.2 Policy guidelines of China ventilation technology
Outputs based on ventilation is defined as the core of mine
ventilation management, includes 2 parts:
Change of outputs is calculated by the actual air-flux of mine and
whole mining working faces.
Reason of lack of air:
 change of working conditions(such as forecasting methane is to
be lower)
 change of outputs
Have reasonable ventilation mode and system.
Outputs based on ventilation has 3 levels:
All of the working faces have enough air by their actual needs
Reasonable area ventilation system
Reasonable mine ventilation mode and system
