To look and be our very best, we would do
well to avoid emotional, as well as
environmental stress.
We also need to reduce our toxic intake, and
choose wisely when it comes to what we eat
and what we “feed” our skin.
Ideally, the products you use on your clients are
organic and plant-based.
Why organic?
You want the ingredients to be free of toxic
fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides and to come
from environmentally clean areas.
They should also be free of trans-fats, toxins, and
chemical solvents
.
•
•
•
I believe that products that use organic
ingredients that come from whole food and
other natural sources can be more effective,
because the ratio of vitamins and other
nutrients in them are more likely to work in
harmony with our skin.
Vitamins are made up of several different
components – enzymes, co-enzymes, and cofactors– that must work together to produce
their intended biologic effects
Vitamins that are found naturally in whole
foods come with all of their necessary
components.
Our systems are not designed to take advantage of
one nutrient alone.
Synthetics aren’t something the body recognizes
either.
Look for parsley, rose hips, or other plant names
as ingredients rather than just an isolated
chemical.
Beautiful Skin Starts from Within
•
The Greek physician Hippocrates (460 - 377
BC), often referred to as the "Father of
Modern Medicine," was an herbalist; one of
his famous statements is "Let your food be
your medicine, and your medicine be your
food."
•
•
I deeply believe that organic skin care
products can deliver dramatic and long
lasting results.
What we put on our faces should be as safe
and pure as the food we eat. It should be like
a fresh meal for your face!
Probiotics
After being treated with antibiotics, eating processed
foods, and the constant use of antibacterial soaps,
many of us have stripped our bodies of these very
important "digestive helpers."
A probiotic deficiency can lead to an imbalance in the
digestive system, yeast overgrowth, and toxicity in the
body and the skin.
We need to replenish our body with probiotics and
enzymes on a regular basis with cultured foods like
sauerkraut, yogurt, kefir.
Weeds for Health and Beauty
•
Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale), which
we usually try to clear from our yards, can help
correct skin problems.
•
•
the roots and leaves of dandelion are
extremely nutritious and are a valuable source
of minerals (especially potassium), as well as
vitamins A, B, C, and D.
Sap or milk from dandelion stems has been
used traditionally for many years around the
world to lighten pigment spots and eliminate
warts.
Burdock
•
•
•
Burdock (Arctium lappa), another famous
weed, can be combined with dandelion tea to
create a powerful cleansing and healing tonic.
Burdock is a favorite among herbalists to treat
acne.
In Japan, burdock root is called gobo and is
eaten as a vegetable. Burdock root rich in
fiber, potassium, calcium, and amino acids.
Oxidative stress, along with
inflammation, are the main reasons
for premature skin aging and
discolorations.
•
•
Every day our skin encounters free radicals in
many different forms; environmental
pollutants, ultraviolet rays, poor diet, emotional
stress.
We need antioxidants to protect our cells from
the damaging effects of oxidation.
Antioxidant rich foods that help
restore the skin
•
•
Red and black currants, raspberries,
blueberries, pomegranate and sesame seeds.
Grapes and red wine contain resveratrol, a
“super antioxidant” with strong anti-aging
properties.
•
Vegetables like spinach and kale, which
contain lutein, an antioxidant that helps
hydrate the skin.
•
Yellow and orange root vegetables, including
carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkins and
squash. They are great sources of beta-
carotene.
•
Broccoli, cranberries and apples contain
quercetin, an other powerful antioxidant
and anti-inflammatory agent.
Honey
•
A 2004 study conducted by the University of
California concluded that the honey contains
as many antioxidants as oranges and
strawberries.
Proanthocyanidins - called OPC's for
short.
•
•
•
These antioxidants reduce free radicals and
help restore sun damaged and aging skin.
They also help strengthen capillaries.
Foods that are rich in OPCs include: raisins,
grapes, bilberries, cranberries, black currants,
green tea, cocoa, and grape seeds.
Carotenoids
•
•
One type of carotenoids, beta-carotene, is
known for its ability to convert into vitamin A in
the body. This enhances immune system
function and helps protect cells from DNA
damage.
We can benefit from them by including red,
orange, dark green, and yellow fruits and
vegetables into our diets like sweet potatoes,
apricots, peaches, carrots, cantaloupe,
pumpkin, and tomatoes.
•
•
Polyphenols
According to an article in the American
Journal of Clinical Nutrition (Vol. 81, No. 1,
215S-217S, January 2005) more evidence
shows that these compounds can help prevent
the spread of a number of degenerative
conditions.
Most of fruits and vegetables contain some
polyphenols, including green and black tea,
red wine, onions, broccoli, greens, apples and
blueberries.
Glutathione (GSH) - has been called
the master antioxidant.
•
•
•
It is well known that aging is accompanied by
a fall in GSH levels.
No other antioxidant is as important to overall
health as glutathione. It is the regenerator of
immune cells and the most valuable
detoxifying agent in the body.
Glutathione can be found in goat's milk, whey
protein, asparagus, avocado, parsley, and
broccoli.
Creating organic skin care
formulations can be compared to
cooking.
•
•
•
You can chose between simple or
sophisticated recipes.
Two recipes for organic vegetable soup. One
recipe calls for only potatoes and onions. The
other includes more than 20 different
vegetables.
Both soups could be made up of certified
organic vegetables, but would you still receive
the same amount of nutrition from each soup?
Seabuckthorn Oil
•
•
•
Seabuckthorn oil is exceptionally rich in
unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins, carotene,
flavonoids, phytosterols, serotonin, amino
acids, and trace elements.
Traditionally the medicinal value of
seabuckthorn oil lies in its ability to help
regenerate and rejuvenate the skin and
mucous membranes.
It also helps heal sun damaged, irritated, dry,
and itchy skin.
Spirulina
•
•
Spirulina – This blue-green algae provides an
incredible blend of phytonutrients for the skin.
Spirulina is a great source of essential fatty
acids (EFAs) and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA),
and also contains alpha-linolenic acid (ALA),
linoleic acid (LA), vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2
(riboflavin), B3 (nicotinamide), B6 (pyridoxine),
B9 (folic acid), vitamin C, D, and E.
People of all ages want to smooth fine
lines, wrinkles, and acne scars. This
can be achieved by “resurfacing”
techniques that peel, exfoliate, and
rejuvenate skin.
•
•
•
•
•
•
Skin Needling is also called “Facial Needling” or “Medical
Needling”.
The technique reduces the depth of wrinkles and fine lines
on the face. It also reduces shallow depressed scars such as
Chicken Pox or Acne scars.
Facial needling is a natural skin rejuvenation method that fills
and softens wrinkles and scars.
The process creates hundreds of microscopic “pin pricks” to
activate your body’s wound healing process.
As your skin heals, it uses your own collagen to fill the
“valleys” of wrinkles and scars naturally.
Needling is also called Dry Needling, Dry Tattooing, Needle
Abrasion, Needle Dermabrasion, Facial Mesotherapy,
Multitrepannic Collagen Actuation (MCA), Percutaneous
Collagen Induction (PCI), or Collagen Induction Therapy
(CIT).
•
•
In 1997, South African plastic surgeon Des
Fernandes, MD, began to explore the idea of
increasing collagen production by inducing
bleeding in the skin via hundreds of tiny pricks.
Using devices with needles one to three
millimeters long, physicians could pierce the
dermis (which generates collagen and elastin)
while leaving the epidermal layer relatively
intact.
•
•
Usually only one session is necessary to
produce new collagen that will last up to seven
years, a patient needs to be fully sedated
when three-millimeter needles are used and
topically numbed before treatment with one
millimeter needles.
Patient may require up to a week to recover
from a session with three-millimeter spikes;
swelling and discoloration could last one day
after treatment with one-millimeter needles.
How Does Skin Needling Work?
The concept behind needling is the stimulation of
new collagen production in your skin.
The dry needle causes micro-trauma and microinflammation.
Your body will respond by sending blood to the
area for healing.
Fibroblasts make and deposit new
extracellular matrix with collagen and
elastin.
•
•
Repeated needling sessions gradually and
continually build new collagen to fill-in the
treated areas.
The terms Collagen Induction and Collagen
Induction Therapy or CIT are sometimes used
to describe this process.
Elina Organics
Gemstone with Warm Needle
Anti-Wrinkle Treatment
Cleanse the skin using the Elina Organics cleanser that best fits
the client’s skin type.
Proceed with vacuuming and extractions, then sanitize
the extracted area(s) with Oil Control Formula.
Apply Fruit Peel over the entire face and neck areas.
Natural alpha hydroxy acids will gently exfoliate the
skin; fruit enzymes and antioxidants will have a
brightening effect.
Massage the face and neck for two minutes with
Sapphire Skin Rejuvenating Mask. This will help to
polish, nourish and energize the skin.
Slowly move the warm needle inside wrinkles and deep lines.
This treatment is designed to cause temporary microinflammation by slightly overheating the targeted area(s).
As the skin repairs itself new collagen builds up in the
popularly dermis (the middle layer of the skin, just below the
surface).
Wrinkles, lines, or depressed scars will fill in
from the bottom up without the use of any
artificial substances. Make sure the
temperature does NOT exceed two bars.
You can repeat the warm needle drawing
two or three times inside the deepest lines.
Apply Omega Serum. Two of the key ingredients, wild
cod collagen and sea buckthorn oil, deliver a cocktail of
natural vitamins, as well as omega fatty acids 3, 6, 7
and 9, and other skin nutrients. It helps to firm, calm
and restore the skin.
Apply Ruby Lip Rejuvenating Elixir to the lips and lip area.
This will promote better blood flow, as well as nourish and
energize the lips.
