Estimated cost: $3,300 plus airfares and Chinese visa
Accommodation: international standard hotels
Meals: Authentic Chinese and Western cuisine

Teaching Method

Three Saturday pre-departure meetings in spring
quarter





Introduce the courses, help students understand the course
requirements, the study tour schedule, and responsibilities
A debriefing session after the study tour for final
presentations
Participate in all company and institutional visits
Write an integrative report on topics appropriate to
the course(s)
Keep a daily journal and write reflection reports
Host Organization

The Asia Institute
 The
Asia Institute is a professional organization
registered as the Kong and Allan Group LLC, which has
a successful history of delivering education travel
experiences for multiple university partners.
 Kong and Allan has previously conducted student travel
programs for over 600 students and faculty in China,
Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, India, Malaysia and
Vietnam.
International Service Learning Project
Students will have an opportunity to participate in
an international service learning project with the
Shanghai Roots & Shoots’ Million Tree Project to
plant trees in Inner Mongolia
 Shanghai Roots & Shoots is a part of the Jane
Goodall Institute and was elected to
educate youths about
environmental issues and
humanitarian values.


Morning: Bus Tour of Shanghai
 Afternoon: Lecture and discussion by a Shanghai-based
entrepreneur and investment banker
 Evening: Welcome Dinner will be hosted by the Asia Institute



Morning: Lecture on Asia regional supply chain
 Afternoon: Company visit
 Evening: Free time

