Agriculture is one of the key priority sectors
Poverty levels are at 68%. 53% are extremely
poor and 15% moderately poor
Agriculture sector accounts for 22% of the
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and provides
livelihood for more than 50% of the population
The sector employs 67% of the labor force and
is the main source of income and employment
especially women that constitutes 65% of the
rural population
