Family agriculture and supply system for food
security
To support greater food production and productivity of
rural families in poverty, as well as the infrastructure for
food storage, creating early warning mechanisms for
ensuring
the
permanent
availability
of
food.
Strengthening family agriculture and increasing
production of basic grains, through technical assistance
and the facilitation of access to inputs by producers in
conditions of vulnerability.
Food Security Program
• Goal:
Contribute to elevating the availability of and access to basic foods
by the population of El Salvador, to improve their quality of life.
• Pupose:
Increase the availability and variety of foods, and promote greater
accessibility to food.
• Result
 An increase in the permanent supply of foods, in quantity and quality
 An improvement in access to sustainable consumption of basic
foods.
 Establishment of a contingency program for food security and
storage in case of emergency.

Special Food Security
Program,–PESA El Salvador
• Overall Objective
To reduce the proportion of rural homes experiencing food
and nutritional insecurity by implementing agricultural and
human development initiatives to guarantee the availability,
stability, access, consumption of food, based on strategic
local development alliances in four municipalities in the East
of El Salvador.
• Specific Objective
Improved food and nutritional security of the most vulnerable
groups in four municipalities.
• Components:
 Capacity building in food production and income generation
 Training in Food Security, Nutrition and Home
 Communication for Development
 Institutional Strengthening and Impact
