• Thesis:…we must admit that it does bring us some
troubles. The serious one is that TV advertising has
interfered people’s normal life.

The interference of TV advertising in our normal
life is reflected in the following two ways. Firstly, TV
programs are interrupted by commercials …..Secondly,
mislead people with flowery phrases and empty
promises

Some people complain about the interference of TV ads
in their enjoyment. Many believe that TV ads mislead
customers especially youngsters to have unreasonable
consuming concepts. In spite of such hostile attitudes, we
must admit that TV advertising is beneficial to us in various
ways. The major advantage is to promote consumption.

Tv ads promote consumption in that, firstly, it is an
efficient way for manufacturers to publicize their products.
TV is an efficient medium, through which information can be
spread quickly, vividly, and in a large scale. When Wahaha, a
kind of children’s drink, is released on TV, the song is
imitated by children all over the nation nearly overnight.
Along with its release the sale of the drink increase greatly.

Without TV ads, a product would get a longer time to be

acknowledged by consumers.

• Secondly, it provides a good way for consumers to learn
the products. This is a time when information is too
excessive to be processed. Without TV ads, customers will
spend large quantity of time looking for the goods they
want, and choosing from the alternatives. TV ads give
them much information about the products, the
manufacturers, and the possible effects.

From the above reasoning, we can easily see the
consumption promoting function of TV advertisement. We
hope that TV advertisement agencies will give us more
colorful and more trustworthy advertisements.
