– failing economy in Turkey led to its
cancellation; only 3 registrations received

– entitled Advances in Powder Diffraction
– given by Tim Fawcett & John Faber

» the accuracy of powder diffraction data
» Round Robin data

and their impact on the PDF®
» data mining and next generation software
» current status of the PDF® and plans for the future

the International Radiation Physics Society)

Travel support for an ICDD rep plus workshop
registrations of students from neighboring African
nations will be supported, funding permitting.
New Application Process

Last March, we implemented a formal application
process for requesting support from the ICDD for
scientific meetings, workshops, and symposia.

A Task Group, chaired by Jim Kaduk, has been
created to review the requests for support, and
recommend funding for activities that improve
materials analysis by XRD and XRF within the
worldwide scientific community

