Man Receive?
1 Corinthians 2:14

Questions
 If the natural man does not receive the
things of God.
 If the things of God are foolishness to
him.
 Then where does he go?
 And what does make sense to him?
Failure of the Natural Man
 Comes from the inability to build a
system of beliefs that are…
 Reasonable…
 Coherent…
 Consistent…
 That arrive at goodness without God.
Essence of the Natural Man
 He leaves God out of his life and
thinking.
 He lives as though God is dead.
 God does not exist.
 There is no God influence in the
world or upon mankind.
Natural Man Assumes
 God is not the revealer of right and wrong.
 Happiness is not the basis for moral
choice.
 Others believed that personal happiness
was a fundamental right.
 Man has the capability to make the correct
moral choices.
Classic Struggle
 West: Right and wrong determined by
reason.
 Morality determined by culture/religion.
 Islam: truth is revealed.
 Buddhism: truth is intuitive.
 Western world: truth is arrived at by
reason.
Christians are Called To Believe
 That we are fashioned by creator God.
 We are here with God’s purpose in mind.
 We need to know God.
 We need to know His purpose.
 Out of that purpose we will form the
concepts of right and wrong.
When a Man Turns from God
 He has only his conscience to judge
him.
 He has his own voice of reason to
guide him.
 The author of this system of living is a
person called Lucifer.
