Basic Information
The giraffe is Africa's tallest mammal.
Adaptations
They drink large quantities of water
and, as a result, they can spend
long periods of time in dry, arid
areas.
A girrafe’s heart can weigh up to 22 pounds.
Ancestors
A giraffes closest relative is the okapi.
Food Chain
Girrafes eat plants.
Lions eat giraffes.
Habitat
Giraffes tend to live in dry, open wooded areas
in the savanna. They are grass-eating herbivores
and feed mainly on leaves and buds of acacia
trees
