Interdependence
and Adaptation
In this topic
we will learn
more about
how…..
Different animals and plants
are found in different habitats.
Animals and plants are suited
to their environment.
Animals need food to grow
and be healthy.
Plants need light, warmth, air
and water to grow well.
Different plants and animals are
found in different habitats and they
have had to adapt (change) in order
to survive in their habitat.
Some plants and animals live in
very cold places whereas others
live in very hot, humid places.
YOUR TASK!!
Compile a ‘mindmap’
containing as many different
habitats as you can think of.
For each habitat, name a
plant or animal that you
would find in that habitat.

The Arctic
(Polar Bear)
Amazing Adaptations!!

Polar
Bear

store water in
the hot desert
climate.
 Thin needle
leaves that don’t
lose water.

TASK
Conduct research into an animal
of your choice and how it is
adapted to its environment. You
may use a variety of information
sources, including the Internet.
