My Mini Pond
By: Cheyenne Redus
Overview Description
 This unit was about making a small pond
environment.
 We did microscopic samples of top and bottom
of the ponds.
 We watched the changes in the organism types
in four time periods, 0 weeks, 3 weeks, 6
weeks, and 12 weeks.
 One interesting thing I learned is how
frequently organisms reproduce, and how
much different a pond can be in just a couple of
weeks.
Original Question

What changes will we see in our pond
at different time periods (3 weeks, 6
weeks, and 10-12 weeks) ?
Hypotheses
 At 3 weeks, we thought our pond would have life,
the water would be clearer, and the pond would
have more fronds.
 At 6 weeks we thought our pond would have lots
of life, the leaves and hay would start to pack to
the bottom, and there would be even more fronds.
 At 10-12 weeks we thought our leaves, and hay
would have started to disappear and dissolve, and
the water would be completely clear.

Conclusion





My original hypothesis was hardly correct at all.
My hypothesis now is..
The organisms will continue to reproduce.
The leaves and hay will completely be buried in
the soil.
The rocks will come out of the soil even more.
Finale
• Our ponds compare with real ponds
because they both have organisms
and life that continue to reproduce.
• Our ponds contrast with real ponds
because in real ponds, there is
probably a wider variety of life, and
there is more plants and bigger
animals.
